What is the purpose of your website?
Unfortunately nowadays most of the websites that belong to small and medium size businesses are ‘brochure’ sites. ‘Brochure’ sites are the sites that ‘says what we do’ and do not perform any other particular action I.e. collecting names and email addresses of your site’ visitors or have any visible call to action.
What is the purpose of your website?
If we simplify things then it will be either:
1. Sell stuff online (e-commerce kind of website)
2. Get visitors to call you
3. Get visitors to give their contact details
If you don’t have a clear purpose of what you want the site to drive then you are not maximizing the impact that web could have on your business.
If you make it very clear what you want people to do on your website, guess what? Most people will actually do it.
It is not good enough anymore that people arrive at your site, have a browse and see what you do and then leave as there is no incentive or reason to take the next step towards becoming your customer.
So what is the purpose of your website? Is it a ‘brochure site’?
